A group of 10 small and medium-sized Italian eyewear companies from the Belluno region undertook one month ago a trade mission to Moscow for an intial contact with the Russian market. Supported by Italian and local government authorities, they met about 45 importers and retailers. On average, each company sold about 3-400 pieces, with partial payment immediately. The general conclusion is that Italian prices are too high for the medium level of the market. Few Italian firms will participate in the Moscow eyewear fair next March.
