A group of American industry veterans is planning to open 12-14 optical retail shops for sunglasses and prescription eyewear in Macau, while exploring opportunities in other regions of Southeast Asia, according to Vision Monday. Called the Lunettes Group, it is headed by Marvin Freedman and his wife Jessica, who opened an eyewear shop in the Ceasars Palace of Las Vegas in 1992. Joining the two are Jean Scott as president and David Schubach as chief operating officer. Scott previously headed up Luxottica's North American wholesale product team, and Schubach has worked for years in Standard Optical, a family-owned retail chain.
