A million euros' worth of eyewear frames have been stolen from Safilo. On the night between Tuesday April 12 to Wednesday April 13, thieves broke into the group's Longarone plant through a window, without setting off the alarm system. They took some 9,000 frames. The break-in was spotted by employees arriving for work on the Wednesday morning - they found a window open on the second floor, which had clearly been forced. The items stolen included inexpensive models as well as some of the most top-end brands in the group's portfolio of licenses.
