Alain Afflelou, France's largest chain of optical stores, had indicated last June a possible merger with Les Frères Lissac, which should have been completed in July. Sources indicate that certain tax considerations, related to the inheritance of the late Georges Lissac and of his son Jean-Luc, who died one year ago, have delayed the conclusion of the deal. It now appears that Lissac will proceed with an equity increase in the course of October that could open the door for Afflelou and/or other new shareholders.
