Alain Afflelou is now selling branded sunglasses through its e-commerce website, afflelou.com. The site receives some 200,000 visits per month. In early July, to steer those potential customers toward its brick-and-mortar stores, the French optical brand took 312 pairs of sunglasses from 11 top brands – plus items from Alain Afflelou's house brand – and made them available online. All of these brands – Burberry, Chloé, Dior, Gucci, Guess, Hugo Boss, Julbo, Persol, Prada, Ray-Ban, Ray-Ban Junior and Tom Ford – fit under the company's Premium banner. There are a few other sunglasses available as well. The website offers a search engine, virtual try-ons and recommendations for items under the Afflelou Paris brand to accompany the branded sunglasses. Customers may opt for home delivery or for pick-up at a store they select in advance.
