Alcon Defies Economy With Gains In Sales, Earnings
Sales at Alcon were up by 14.1 percent to $1,524.6 million for the third quarter; it would have been a 10.3 percent increase in constant currencies. Net earnings grew by 51 percent to $627.1 million, which included a tax benefit of $239.5 million.
