Alex Versteeg has been appointed as the new chief executive of Essilor Germany. The 41-year-old manager has been working for more than 20 years for the Essilor group, among other positions as vice president for the Benelux countries, based in the Netherlands. Versteeg started to work for Essilor Germany at the beginning of July. Wolfgang Messerschmidt, vice president for Central and Eastern Europe, had assumed the management of the German subsidiary on an interim basis, after Stefan Rüdiger, the former chief executive of Essilor Germany, left the company one year ago.
