Replacing Visibilia, which had the eyewear license from this Italian fashion designer before, another fast-growing Italian company, Allison, will produce and distribute sun and optical glass under the name of Alessandro Dell'Acqua for the next five years. The license is expected to generate about €30 million in sales by 2011.

A first Fall-Winter collection will be available in August and will comprise 16 sunglasses and 14 optical frames. Some of the unisex models will be unveiled at the end of the month in Milan, during the presentation of the designer's men's collection, but the official presentation of the eyewear line is scheduled for the SILMO show in Paris on Oct. 19-22.

The agreement comes hot on the heels of a licence signed by Allison with another Italian fashion group, Roberta di Camerino, for the production and distribution of sun and optical eyewear until 2011. The deal is expected to generate about €20 million in five years' time. Allison had sales of €104 million in 2006. It forecasts a rise in 2007 sales to €130 million.
