An Italian court of appeals recently overturned the ruling of a lower court in Varese that had approved the Italian customs authorities' seizure of a consignment of eyewear from China because it falsely purported to have been manufactured in Italy. The higher court stressed that the imported goods were clearly labeled as ?Conceived by XX ? Italy.? It said the fact the goods were designed in Italy could in no way mislead the purchaser as to the origin of the products.
