Andrew Actman, a British eyewear designer and supplier that probably has the biggest warehouse for its kind of products in the UK, is hiring a team of merchandisers to help its licensors to do a better job with its own sunglasses. The company already works with Karen Millen, a chain of 115 high-end aspirational women's apparel stores and it has now added a license with Oasis, a more international chain of younger and trendier clothing with about 160 outlets, including nearly 15 shops in Kaufhof department stores in Germany. Oasis already sells an entry-level line of sunglasses in its stores. The line licensed to Actman, due to be launched next January, will be positioned at a higher level.
