Andy Wolf, the highly creative Austrian manufacturer of acetate frames that recently acquired a factory in the Jura region of France specializing in the production of hand-made metal eyeglasses, created a subsidiary for the U.S. market in September, in New York City. A logistics and distribution partner previously sold the brand in the U.S., and Andy Wolf has taken over its warehouse near New York. Ten employees and sales representative currently take care of sales in the U.S. and Canada, which accounts for 7 percent of the company's total sales. In terms of volume, Andy Wolf sold a total of about 120,000 frames in 2016 at an average price of €100-150 to opticians. Its most important markets are Germany, Austria, France, Italy and the Netherlands, where the brand distributes its lines directly. At the end of this year, Andy Wolf will set up a new online service for its retail clients.
