Anglo-American Optical has undergone the ?buy-back' route, following in the footsteps of the much larger French L'Amy Group. Lawrence Jenkin, who is no longer with Anglo-American, had sold the British family-owned company to undisclosed interests in the early 1990's. Tony Jenkin, his younger brother and one of the founders, completed the buyback on March 30, just before the Eyefashion 2000 show in London, and now retains sole ownership of the firm. The company immediated added 4 staff members. Future sales development is aimed primarily at the USA, Scandinavia, South Africa, Holland and other European countries where the brand is already established. Additional plans for expansion and marketing will be announced shortly.
