AVM 1959, the Italian company previously known as Allison, is expanding its brand portfolio by adding a license for a line of eyewear bearing the name of Tonino Lamborghini, the famous brand of luxury sports cars.
The first sunglasses and prescription frames under this name will come out early next year for a selective distribution during the spring/summer 2018 season. Bearing the brand's iconic bull logo, the line will be positioned in a high segment of the market.
Lamborghini joins seven other brands currently managed by AVM including Missoni, Moschino and Vivienne Westwood. Until its reorganization in 2015, the former Allison also had the licenses for Benetton and Iceberg, but the contracts were terminated at that time. They are now in the hands of Mondottica and Class Classis, respectively, as reported in this issue.
