Baidu, China's largest internet search engine, is reportedly working on its own smart eyeglass technology, similar to the Google Glass project. The “Baidu Eyes” project would consist of a small LCD screen attached to a slim headset. The new glasses are expected to be able to do searches on the internet by using facial recognition. With the photo of a celebrity, for instance, the wearer would be able to immediately verify the celebrity's identity by comparing that image with the images resulting from a search on Baidu. The company has not announced any release date for the product, which is one in many experiments that it is conducting on internet-search technologies.
