Bellinger, an up-and-coming Danish eyewear design company, launched a new line of eyewear under the name Blac at the recent MIDO trade show. Two years of complex development were needed to bring out this collection, which is 100 percent hand-made from carbon and glass fiber in Denmark. The new line is positioned higher than the current Bellinger collections, which are already considered a high-end product. Claus Bellinger, the chief designer and owner of the company, came to the eyewear business through working for ProDesign International. He and his wife first set up the business in their basement, and now employ 30 people at the company's head office in Arhus. The products are distributed in 40 countries worldwide directly and through sales agents. New agents have recently been taken on for the South German and Swiss markets.
