Bills have been introduced in the U.S. Senate and its House of Representatives for the ?Vision Care for Kids Act of 2009,? which would ensure that children have follow-up care after being identified as having a possible vision problem in an eye exam or screening. The language of the two bills is identical, which could ease passage of the act. It has the support of an alliance of 10 industry organizations, such as the Vision Council and the American Optometric Association.
