Brillen-Profi, a Germany voluntary group of independent opticians that decided to join forces to share experiences and best practices in the optical and hearing aids segments, has launched a new online platform,, for the management of corporate succession in the optical sector. Brillen-Profi, whose members operate 1,850 points of sale, is particularly strong in marketing as it owns half of the shares in an advertising company that is run by an optician. It also runs educational clinics. The platform aims to connect sellers of optical stores with prospective buyers. An external assessment, paid for by the seller, evaluates the stores with regards to its value and other relevant variables. The prospective buyer pays a fee to Brillen-Profi after the transaction is concluded. Brillen-Profi is one of the voluntary groups that joined the recently formed European cooperative, Ineurope, to share experiences and best practices.
