Brulimar says it is recording an incredible demand for its Bench and Lee Cooper branded kids eyewear, which added an additional €1.8 million to the company's turnover in the last year and a half. As kids know much more about brands and aim for adult brands, Brulimar ended its Barbie, Action Man, Batman, Superman and Spiderman character licenses for the U.K. No other company has taken up the licenses yet, which underlines the strength of designer kids' collections. The designer sunglass collections for kids were presented for the first time at Silmo. Brulimar's kids' collections account already for 10 percent of total sales, and Brulimar expects even more growth in the future. While the company sold the collections previously only to the independent optical sector, it is now about to sell it also to optical chains. The rollout of Bench sunglasses for children and adults to Bench stores will start in 2013.
