Carl Zeiss Meditec has acquired Veracity Innovations, a medical software company based in Temple, Texas. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Veracity markets an intelligent cloud-based platform for cataract surgical planning, management and analysis. The platform was launched at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in May of this year. Veracity interfaces with many Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and diagnostic devices and synthetizes the most critical data that doctors need from the very first patient consultation up to the post-operative process. Veracity Innovations was founded by three ophthalmologists - Kyle Smith, Kerry Solomon and Jeremiah Elliott.
