Carl Zeiss' optical division has formed a strategic partnership with a Swiss company, set up last October, which has developed a new, faster and more economical system for producing plastic lenses. Called Concepcion Holding, the Swiss firm is based in Sarnen and is run by Rudolf Suter. It's developing now also new lens treatments and materials for the eywear industry. It expects to reach a turnover of more than $150 million by 2005.
