Carl Zeiss presented a new product for its office lens product portfolio at Opti ‘13 in Munich. Compared with traditional reading glasses, the new Zeiss lens, called Book, offers an amplified focus at the reading range, but also for a maximum intermediate distance of 1 meter. The lenses will be available from March 2013 on a global level. Additionally, Carl Zeiss revised its standard colors and now offers to send its clients a sample of their preferred color, and manufacture lenses of this color. This is possible not only for sunglass lenses, but also for all corrective lenses from March 2013. The DuraVision Platinum lens, which was stopped in July 2012 as irregularities were discovered through reclamations, has also been revised and has been available in Germany since Feb. 15.
