Carl Zeiss Vision raised its turnover to €845 million for the financial year ended last Sept. 30, as compared to €789 million the year before. The group, which stemmed from the merger of Carl Zeiss' ophthalmic lens operations with SOLA International, employed by then a total of 10,626 persons in over 30 countries, including 1,263 in Germany. Its results are integrated into those of the Carl Zeiss Group, which owns 50 percent of the shares, on the basis of the equity method. The group itself generated sales of €2,433 million during the financial year, with a 14 percent increase on a comparable basis. Group orders were up by 18 percent on the same basis.
