CNC, a French eyewear firm, is licensing the Lafuma brand name of outdoor clothing, backpacks and other accessories for a line of prescription and sun eyeglasses that will be launched at Silmo next October. The first line of 30 models, including some items specifically designed for cycling, will be available initially only in France, but CNC plans to expand the distribution to other countries later. The line will be manufactured in Hong Kong, using safety lenses supplied by Christian Dalloz. CNC, which is 6 years old, had sales of 50 million French francs (e7.5m-$7m) in 32 countries last year. The company, which is run by Cyrille Chapuis, recently obtained the Courreges and Katherine Hamnett licenses.
