CooperVision raised its sales by 27 percent to $56.1 million in the 2nd quarter ended Apr. 30, but its operating income was off 5 percent to $12.3 million. CooperVision's global sales of soft contact lenses were up 33 percent, but they would have risen by only 4 percent without the integration of Biocompatibles Eyewear on Feb. 28. Including other divisions, The Cooper Companies raised revenues by 26 percent to $71.9 million in the quarter, and its net income rose to $9.9 million.
