For every sale of a frame produced by its brand Brendel Eyewear, Eschenbach Optik is donating a frame to the non-profit organization Vision for the World. The initiative began with the first pandemic lockdown and is set to run through the summer, for a total donation of 32,000 frames. In keeping with Brendel´s specialization in women’s eyewear, almost half of the donations will go towards women living in poverty. Distribution is being handled by other groups, notably Eye Camps in India, Vision Aid in Uganda, and Eyewear Worldwide in Cameroon and El Salvador. Prescription eyewear assembled in Germany will be going to camps and schools in Nepal and a monastery in Katmandu. Eschenbach ran a similar Nepalese campaign in 2019.
