INSPECS announced on April 15 that it has won an International Green Product Award 2021 in the sports category for one of its O’Neill products. The WOVE frame and its packaging are made from recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials such as fishing nets, rubber tires, plastic bottles, stainless steel, mineral glass or water-soluble paper. O’Neill, a surf and snow sports brand, has been running a specific program that focuses on the reduction of plastic waste for several years. INSPECS recently launched BOTANIQ, its own sustainable eyewear range using biodegradable materials. Started in 2019 by White Lobster, a Berlin-based company, the Green Product Awards program is rewarding 100 eco-friendly products and concepts in eleven product categories annually, after review by an international jury. In 2020, 1,463 companies from 52 countries applied for a Green Product Award.
