Novacel, the French lens laboratory partly owned by Essilor, announced that it is the first company in the eyewear industry to obtain the Covid-19 standard by AFNOR (L’Association Française de Normalisation), a French-based control and standardization organization. The Covid-19 certification is based on an onsite verification of 93 points focusing on the employees’ sanitary protection and the production and shipment processes. They include control and protection of employees and visitors arriving onsite, regular sanitization of the factory and offices, distance between work stations among others things. Novacel will send its clients a communication kit with a display of the certification and a short explanatory video, also available on the company’s Youtube channel.
