Yoox Net-a-Porter (YNAP), the fashion online retailer owned by the Swiss luxury group Richemont, is creating with the Italian fashion group Giorgio Armani a new distribution model that will further the partnership between the two companies that have been working together for 20 years.
Under the new agreement, which will last until 2025, the companies will redesign and develop a new “revolutionary” shopping experience by leveraging on YNAP’s logistics network to seamlessly integrate Armani’s digital and physical stores.
The goal of the so-called Next Era project is to offer Armani customers access to all available products across both online and offline channels. They will begin to see the new features of the Next Era model on the armani.com website from 2021, with full integration expected from 2022, the companies said.
EssilorLuxottica holds the eyewear licenses for the A/X Armani Exchange, Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani brands. In 2017, YNAP already announced a partnership with the fashion house Valentino to rollout the Next Era distribution model.
