Effective Sept. 1, Uvex Sports Group has appointed Helge Gützlaff and Martin Schamböck as new members of the board of executive directors. Gützlaff will be in charge of strategic business for the cycle and winter sports categories. Besides global marketing, the 43-year-old will be in charge of product development. Most recently, Gützlaff has served as a sales director at Cervélo, the bicycle brand. Before that, he spent 11 years at Amer Sports in various sales and product positions with Atomic, notably as sales director in Switzerland. Schamböck takes over the position of the director of marketing for both the Uvex and the Alpina brands. He joins the Uvex group from Römer, a specialty company of children's seats in cars and other safety solutions. The 37-year-old has also an Amer-related professional background: Schamböck served as global marketing manager for Suunto and Atomic Snowboarding. In Germany, Wolfgang Doleschel, with the company since last October, has been promoted sales director for the bike and snow sports business of Alpina. His predecessor, Alexander Selch, has become – as reported – managing director of the Uvex Group in charge of marketing and sales. Doleschel worked for Garmin and before that for Suunto.
