El Corte Inglés has reported that Optica 2000, its chain of optical retail stores, consolidated its position in the Spanish market with a turnover of €75 million in the financial year ended Feb. 28, or 2.4 percent less than in the previous year. Its profit contribution improved by 3.9 percent to €4.77 million. The chain introduced a more competitive pricing policy, including promotional offers for high-end glasses. It ended the year with 106 stores in Spain and two in Portugal. Optica 2000 has nothing to do with Optic 2000 in France.
