Elbert E. (Jody) Stone Jr., 65, died of a heart attack on Oct. 26, VMail reports. He was a journalist and the editor of several optical trade publications. For seven years in the 1980s he was lead editorial executive at Jobson Publishing. He was the founding editor in chief of Vision Monday and helped expand 20/20 magazine into Europe. He was also associated with the Vision Care Group of Gralla Publications and Breton Communications. He founded EyeQuest Publications and The World Wide Eye, a communication and marketing firm where he served as creative director. He also worked with the State University of New York's College of Optometry and with the Vision Council of America.
