Electric, which belongs to the Kering group, has announced that Kip Arnette, one of its co-founders, is retiring after 15 years with the American brand of eyewear. Arnette founded Electric in 2000 together with Bruce Beach. The brand specializes in snow goggles and sunglasses, but offers also prescription eyewear. Arnette was originally introduced to the art of eyewear by his father Greg Arnette, founder of Arnette sunglasses. In 2011, Electric was acquired by Kering along with an American action sports brand, Volcom, that had bought it before. Two years later, in April 2013, Bruce Beach left the brand. Beach later founded a surfwear brand, called Depactus, together with a surfer, Luke Egan.
