Emerging Vision's purchases in 2006 and 2007 of Combine Optical Management and The Optical Group paid off, delivering combined retail revenues of $33.85 million for 2007. This meant that these buying groups brought in 68.2 percent of Emerging Vision's total revenues, which were $49.6 million for the year ended Dec. 31. They gave a 128.5 percent boost to the company's overall consolidated revenues. Emerging Vision's retail sales totaled $8.9 million in 2007, compared with $7.3 million for the year before. Company-owned stores contributed $5.4 million in sales, a 38.1 percent increase; on a comparable store basis, sales were up 4.9 percent. Royalties from the Sterling Optical franchises were $6.6 million, a drop of 5.9 percent from 2006. Net income for Emerging Vision was $426,000 in 2007, down from $1.9 million the year before.
