Essilor has announced that it has been recognized by the Sustainable Business Awards in the category “UN Sustainable Development Goals: Understanding the company's roles and initiatives in working to deliver the UN SDGs,” a new category which was added this year. The award honored the company's commitment to responsibly fight uncorrected poor vision, the world's largest disability, the company said. Organized by Global Initiatives for the third year in Singapore, The Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) aim to raise awareness of sustainable business best practices. The SBA methodology, conducted in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers, recognizes processes that deliver green strategy and business advantage and rewards companies on their way to become truly sustainable businesses in Asia. In its release, Essilor said the company contributes to 13 out of 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, through its mission and the sustainable approach it has adopted across its value chain.
