Evioo.com, the French online optical retailer, is planning to open 100 bricks-and-mortar stores over the next three years, according to reports in the information portal acuite.fr. The stores will be relatively small in terms of surface, between 5 and 40 square meters, and highly technical, equipped with artificial intelligence devices. Customers will have the opportunity to virtually try on glasses through augmented reality, choosing among 10,000 optical frames. The operating principle for these stores will be similar to the franchise. The stock of goods, stored by the retailer, will remain the property of evioo, while the retailer makes a commission on sales. The first store openings are scheduled for this March. In-store services will still be complemented by online services, and customers will be able to benefit from both.
