According to a report by Milano Finanza, Andrea Guerra, former CEO of the Luxottica group, has been appointed to the executive board of directors of Thelios, the joint venture between LVMH and Marcolin. Guerra is currently CEO of LVMH Hospitality Excellence, the luxury hotel division of the French group, a member of the group’s executive committee and has also been put in charge of supervising the Fendi and Loro Piana brands at the end of last year. Under Guerra’s leadership, Luxottica’s annual revenues had jumped from €2.8 billion to more than €7 billion between 2004 and 2014. According to the Italian press, the arrival of Guerra should lead to an increase in Thelios’ production partnerships and to an acceleration of the international distribution, in particular by the opening of sales’ subsidiaries in Europe. Thelios declined to comment on the news. As previously reported, Giovanni Zoppas, former CEO of Thelios, left the company at the end of April and a replacement has yet to be announced.
