Inspecs has appointed Nevil “Nev” Trotter as general manager of Norville, the British manufacturer of spectacle lenses it bought on July 14.
Immediately after buying Norville, which was in administration, Inspecs started searching for a new general manager to run the business.
Trotter joins Inspecs from Specsavers, where he was a partner and director of group manufacturing & distribution technologies. He worked at Specsavers for the last 13 years. Most recently, Trotter was responsible for the manufacturing and supply chain, as well as the global project delivery and system integration. He was instrumental in delivering supply chain fulfilment for Specsavers’ move into e-commerce and market expansion, according to Inspecs.
Prior to joining the optical industry, Trotter spent the majority of his career in the manufacturing sector working for Rolls Royce, GKN, Princess Yachts and BAE Systems.
