Rodenstock, the high-end German lens and frame company, announced the appointment of Roland Dimbath as its new chief operations officer as of Jan.1. Dimbach joined the company in 2006 as director of logistics and purchasing, a position he held until 2017 when he was appointed head of sales and operations for Eastern Europe. The company said that Eastern Europe became one of the fastest growing regions for the group under his supervision, with production in its Czech factory in Klatovy almost doubling in four years. Dimbach is taking over COO responsibilities from Michael Kleer, who had been in this position since 2007 and is now retiring. However, Kleer will act as senior advisor for Rodenstock in 2021, representing the group at trade associations.
The company also appointed Marcus Desimoni as chief financial officer. Desimoni joins Rodenstock from GN Nord, a Danish-based audio specialist company active in the hearing-aids segment among others, where he held similar functions. He is taking over responsibilities from Antonio Arrigoni who is leaving the company.
