Eyevit Distribuzione has signed a three-year agreement to produce and distribute sunglasses and prescription frames for women and children under the Fiorucci name. The deal covers the Italian and foreign markets, with a special focus on Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Turkey and Russia where Fiorucci has a strong presence and Eyevit has a distribution structure. Eyevit will have to rebuild Fiorucci's presence in the eyewear sector after the brand remained without a licensee for about a year and a half. The previous licensee was Stepper Eyewear Eyeconcept.
The deal with Eyevit is also part of Fiorucci's strategy to focus on Italian made products. As part of this strategy the group has repatriated the production of women's shoes from China to Italy.
Eyevit is expected to present around 25/30 women's models and about 10 children's models at next month's Mido show in Milan. A men's collection could rapidly be launched as part of Fiorucci's policy to develop its presence in the segment. At the Micam shoe trade show, to be held in Milan on March 6-9, Fiorucci will launch its first collection of men's footwear.
Eyevit has also renewed its license agreement with Breil, a brand of jewelry with which it works since 2008. Eyevit also holds the Cesare Paciotti and Paciotti 4US licenses for eyewear.
