National Vision, the U.S.-based optical retailer operating the America’s Best and Eyeglass World banners, reported a net increase in Q1 revenues of 13.7 percent as compared to Q1 2020, reaching $534.2 million. The quarterly sales’ growth was driven by a 18.2 percent year-on-year increase on a comparable store basis. During the quarter, the retail group opened 25 new stores, increasing its retail footprint to a total of 1,230 retail locations. Q1 adjusted operating margin increased from 8.1 percent last year to 12.7 percent this year, and net income more than tripled to reach $43.4 million. The company upgraded its 2021 outlook and is now targeting a 16-19 percent increase in comparable stores’ sales, from 13-16 percent in the previous outlook, and net revenues in the $1.97-$2.02 million range, up from $1.93-$1.98 million.
