Franco Ferrante is the new country manager of Luxottica Belgium, taking the place of Fabien Gribaudo, who left the company a few months ago. Ferranto worked at Luxottica's head office in Milan for six years before moving in 2010 to the Netherlands, where he became deputy country manager of the local subsidiary, in charge of strategic planning. Denying press rumors, Luxottica indicates that it has settled a dispute with independent Belgian opticians regarding the minimum quantities required to order Ray-Ban sunglasses. Ignace Fransman, president of the Belgian opticians' association, Apoob, agrees that some progress has been made in the discussions with Luxottica, but wants to see the conditions guaranteed in writing as some sales reps continue to put pressure for larger orders.
