Götti has won the iF Product Design Award 2012 for a style of sunglasses, Fons, from its Spin & Stow collection. The patented Spin & Stow functionality allows the sunglasses to be folded flat and placed easily in pockets or small cases. Götti says its sunglasses sold very well in 2011, and that its acetate frames sold better than its titanium frames. At Opti '12, Götti launched its first collection of reading glasses, also equipped with Spin & Stow earpieces. They will be available from March 2012 in optical stores. Götti cooperated with the Swiss company Eyetech for the lenses of its reading glasses. Götti's sunglasses will now be available with single-vision and progressive lenses. In March, Götti will launch a new website with the opportunity for opticians to order lenses online. The company will be opening its own sales office in Shanghai in the middle of this year, as more and more Chinese customers are interested in the Spin & Stow collection. Until now, Götti sold its glasses in China with the help of a sales agent. Foreign sales accounted for 60 percent of Götti's total sales. In particular, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy accounted for 40 percent of the company's total sales in 2011.
