Hans-Wilm Sternemann, who founded IGA Optic 30 years ago, has been elected as the new president of the supervisory board of this German cooperative of 450 affiliated opticians. The entrepreneur, who is now 59 years old, was campaigning for this post two years ago. He will oversee the group, which has nearly 50 employees at its head office. Sternemann was operating four optical stores called Optik Mues together with a partner, but then he subsequently got out of the business, and there are now eight stores. He has been working lately as a consultant. At IGA Optic, he takes the place of Chrstian Wette, who has been president for 30 years.
