Hilco Vision has announced the acquisitions of two German-based companies, Breitfeld & Schliekert and Lexxoo International. The financial details were not disclosed. These transactions represent the first add-on acquisitions for Hilco Vision since May 2014, when it was acquired by Blue Point Capital Partners, a private equity firm.
Hilco Vision, based in Plainville, Massachusetts, is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of eyewear and eye care accessories, supplies and equipment, with more than 20,000 products across a broad range of categories. In addition to North America, it has operations in Europe and Australia. The two recent acquisitions are meant to further enhance its global reach.
B&S is an 85-year-old distributor of optical and optometric tools, equipment, supplies and accessories, and the largest provider of optical products in Germany, with an offering of around 30,000 products to optical chains, independent eyecare professionals and optical labs across Europe. Lexxoo supplies sunglasses, reading aids, contact lenses and related products to German retailers, including convenience and drug stores.
