Ilori, the chain of luxury eyewear boutiques run by Luxottica in the U.S., has expanded its offerings, adding prescription services for glasses and sunglasses. The company started the program last year on a test basis in a few stores, and in June rolled it out to all its 24 stores. The prices are set at $299 for clear single-vision eyewear; $399 for clear progressives or bifocals and single-vision sun prescription; and $499 for sun progressives or bifocals. The lenses come from a Luxottica laboratory in Ohio. While the stores don't offer eye exams, opticians are on-site to help customers, and staff members get special optical training.
