In terms of customer satisfaction, opticians top the list of 47 types of retailers and service companies in Germany, according to this year's Kundenmonitor, which polled a total of 36,000 consumers between June and September to get their feedback on pricing and friendliness of the personnel. Opticians were followed by pharmacies, hairstylists, automotive insurance frims and taxis. Worst performers were church institutions, the railways and the police. The 9-year-old survey is conducted by a Munich marketing professor, Anton Meyer, for Service-Barometer AG and a Bielefeld institute.
