Intel is one more contender in the ever busier segment of smartglasses. The American technology company announced earlier this month the launch of Vaunt, its own prototype of augmented reality glasses. Contrary to most projects in this area, Vaunt does not feature a camera but a red monochrome projector that shines an image in the wearer's eye through an holographic mirror. The Vaunt prototype that is compatible with Apple and Android systems is presented by the company as voluntarily minimalist with the objective of relaying basic information and notifications. It weights only 50 grams and control of the device by micro-gestures of the face and vocal instructions are still under development. Intel announced that developers will be able to access the program later this year.
