Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has appointed Jonathan Talamo as chief medical officer and worldwide vice president of medical affairs and clinical affairs for Johnson & Johnson Vision, effective early July. Johnson & Johnson Vision comprises both the vision care and surgical businesses. Talamo has more than 25 years of experience and is an internationally known ophthalmologist. He has written more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and he lectures worldwide. He is also the recipient of honor and senior achievement awards from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Prior to J&J, he served as chief medical officer at Ocular Therapeutix. Before joining Ocular Therapeutix, for nearly 20 years he ran a private medical practice specializing in cataract surgery, refractive surgery and corneal transplantation.
