Karyn Alevey joins REM Eyewear as sunwear director, servicing the crucial New York market after ten years with the Saks Fifth Avenue department store. In another initiative, REM has redesigned its website and joined the social networks Facebook and Twitter, where it welcomes new followers. Further exploiting modern technology, its creative director, Nicolas Roseillier, is starting a blog called «More Than Meets the Eye,» in which he gives a behind-the-scenes look at design inspirations, travel and decisions that go into creating 12 eyewear collections a year.
