Kering Eyewear enjoyed a 23 percent increase in its organic sales during the first quarter of 2019, building up to a level of €128.4 million for the period, according to its parent company, Kering, which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and other luxury brands. The group mentioned the excellent performance of Gucci eyewear, supported by “impactful” marketing initiatives, and the successful launch of the Balenciaga and Montblanc collections. The transfer to a fully automated logistic hub in Italy was described as seamless. Overall, the group booked a sales increase of 21.9 percent to €3.78 billion, with a rise of 17.5 percent on a comparable basis.
